After a long day on the beat, actress Seeta Indrani can't wait to get out of her police uniform and slip into something more comfortable. "The outfit can be a pain," explained Seeta, who shot to fame as WPC Norika Datta in the hit series The Bill. "It is difficult to run or climb walls in a skirt, and trousers are not very comfortable in the summer."
Since joining the series in 1990, the striking 32-year old has to be careful about what she wears 'off duty' because fans are always recognising her in the street: "When I'm out I like to have my hair down, but on the programme I have to keep it in line with police rules, so it is normally in a pony tail or bun.". And as for clothes, it's always something simple and chic. Seeta loves shopping in London's Oxford Street and has a collection of casual and designer outfits for all occassions. "I tend to shop at places like Gap, French Connection and Whistles," said Seeta, who keeps in shape by Flamenco dancing.
But of all her outfits it's her evening wear collection that takes centre stage. Her all-time favourite is a stunning black crushed silk top with matching jodhpurs (pictured below) which she picked up from designer Helen Storey. "I chose this outfit for a cruise that I was planning to go on," she revealed. "I wanted something smart as there was a strict dress code, but I thought a ball dress would have been too much for the occassion. I would wear this to go to the opera," she added. "I'm always looking for something unusual as I'm always getting invited to really dressy occassions. I have a lot of black in my wardrobe."
And Asian clothes? "Well to be honest I've never worn shalwar kameez before, but after trying on these outfits, I might just change my mind!"
